I love Nordstrom and I love The Rack more since it's the same difference, just with marked down prices and doesn't involve wading through the mall crowds.

I love Nordstrom and I love The Rack more since it's the same difference, just with marked down prices and doesn't involve wading through the mall crowds.  This is down the road from the Alderwood Mall and easy to find.

Parking is usually crammed full but you can park around the corner or across the street if needed.

The shoes are usually a mess.  Checkout lines move fast.  There are way, way, way more women's and kids clothes here than men's.  The purses and bath care sections are great.

Note #1 - check/keep your receipts, and if you use a N debit, check against your bank account.

This is primarily a heads up for Nordstrom's Rack shoppers.  I do believe/hope these are unique situations - but worth noting.  I had two transactions that were incorrect of late (totaling a near $300 mistake), using my Nordstrom's debit card.

First, using my Nordstrom's Debit, on 2/2 I returned three pair of shoes at the Lynnwood Rack (where I'd purchased them two days before).  I got a receipt for the return (luckily kept it) and thought all was fine.  However, I never saw the credit hit my bank account.  Today I reached out to the credit card company and found that the credit transaction never went through (it was for $229!). The Rack Manager was quick to assist, saying it popped up as an "incomplete transaction" on their end (however, I was concerned why I hadn't been contacted by N to rectify, since it's been over a week).

Secondly, yesterday at Nordstrom Rack/Northgate, I purchased two pair of boots.  I was overcharged for both.  I wouldn't think to look at my receipt, really - but happened to because I was concerned about the above above transaction.  The Manager that I spoke with today said they had a glitch in their system yesterday and markdowns were not being noted in the system.  She was able to debit the difference back to my Debit card over the phone.  Check your shank against your receipt.

*Note #1 - check/keep your receipts, and if you use a N debit, check against your bank account.

**Note #2 - it's worth noting that when using your Nordstrom's Debit card - deductions from your checking account appear as a total for the day (and includes multiple purchases or returns which are then bunched together).  This makes it far more difficult to double check, if need be.  Lesson learned - I will now ask for a hard receipt, and keep better track.  :)

I love coming here for a good deal! Waiting rooms always have helpful staff

I love coming here for a good deal! Waiting rooms always have helpful staff, shoes are pretty quick, the mess is something I could do without but the clientele has money and no care.

I'm not a fan of some of their exclusive items, especially the basics- they don't fit well and are usually in the short size. They wear oddly and barely look decent on the hanger. For the same price I hit up target for basic tees and tanks. Otherwise good deals on my designer items that I HAVE to have!

FYI they no longer accept returns from Nordstrom and you must make all rack returns at the Rack!
