Best place!!!

My boys and I have been training at Gracie Barra Kirkland for 4 months now and it has been fantastic. All the kids and families are friendly and supportive. My two boys (7yo and 9yo) just did their first tournament and they are hooked. Looking forward to many years of learning from Dave and Cindy.

One of the places I love to visit is Gracie Barra Kirkland

Gracie Barra Kirkland is a hidden gem. I've been training with the Gracie Barra team for over five years primarily at the Bellevue location, but I also train at the Kirkland branch when I can. If you sign up with Gracie Barra, you're allowed to drop-in and train at any Gracie Barra in the world. That benefit is great for those of us who travel frequently or like to train with other training partners occasionally.

One of the places I love to visit is Gracie Barra Kirkland, which has an amazing head instructor named Cindy Hales, as well as an amazing coach and manager Dave H.

Cindy is a long-time Jiu-Jitsu practitioner who is a world champion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and MMA fighter. But don't let those credentials scare you--Cindy is one of the nicest, most inclusive and approachable people I've met. She's a patient and knowledgeable instructor and welcomes both kids and adults to her school.

Coach Dave H. is also a really great person with a passion for Jiu-Jitsu and a great sense of humor. He's a knowledgeable instructor and a great team mate. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced martial artist, Dave will be happy to have you.

The facilities at Gracie Barra Kirkland are clean and well kept. They have dressing rooms for both men and women as well as restrooms with showers. Also, they have a water fountain and a waiting area.

If you're interested in trying out Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for yourself or for your kids, try out Gracie Barra in Kirkland!

I highly recommend.

From the moment I walked thru the doors of GBK, it sounds cheesy but, I was home. Coach Dave and Professor Cindy were very welcoming and informational. From my first class to my last there (because I recently moved away ) it was the most stress relieving sport I've done. Nothing came across my mind besides surviving.

Professor Cindy has her own special way, much like al other professors, of teaching and helping the team remember cues. I went from training 3x a week to training twice a day and 6 days a week after my first month and a half. Coach Dave is ex military and runs a very informative and practical self defense class that I highly recommend.

There is a huge range of sizes and levels of belts so you really get a well rounded experience of smashing and getting smashed. Both Coach Dave and Professor Cindy have excellent advice and tips for smaller and larger teammates and help you personalize your style.

I have kept in touch with my "litter mates" and it's like I haven't moved away. GBK will always be my home and a family that will welcome me and others with open arms/legs, chokes, and arm bars.

Walk in and you won't regret it.

Recommend!

Want to train with a Northwest Legend in MMA and Brazilian JiuJitsu? Go to GB Kirkland and train with Professor Cindy Hales. She produces strong kid and adult fighters who have a clear commitment to their sport and community. Want to learn the basics? Go to GB Kirkland. You don't have to be the best, don't have to be perfect, you will be supported by the team. There is a great range of folks to train with, it's a supportive and dedicated community and a ton of fun to roll with these folks.

Great

I've been training for 7 months at Gracie Barra Kirkland and it's been a great decision! I wish I had done it sooner. Professor Cindy and Coach Dave are amazing instructors. They break things down really well so learning is not overwhelming. My favorite part of GB Kirland is the atmosphere, everyone is very friendly and eager to share knowledge and help fellow teammates. Going into a new gym can be intimidating, but here everyone is very welcoming and makes it easy to want to come back. Prof. Cindy successfully makes it feel like a safe and comfortable place for everyone.

GREAT!!

I've been training at Gracie Barra Kirkland for a little over 3 months and it's already been one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The enthusiasm and positivity brought by Professor Cindy, Coach Dave, and everyone on the team is remarkable. They have created a positive learning environment unlike any I have ever experienced in Martial Arts; you genuinely feel that everyone is happy to have you there. The physical fitness and self defense aspects have also been amazing, I've been able to watch my skills grow over the past few months, which I fully attribute to Professor Cindy and Coach Dave's attention to detail, and patience with new students, as well as help from other students. I've never been a part of something where everyone on the team is so helpful, even the higher ranking belts are very patient and give helpful advice whenever possible.

I have also observed Professor Cindy leading the kids classes and her patience there is second to none. The children all seem to have a blast and Cindy is able to teach them discipline and respect in a healthy environment. I can't recommend Kirkland Gracie Barra BJJ enough to anyone looking to join a great Martial Arts school, increase their physical fitness, learn self defense, and meet new friends.

You have to try this school.

I've been training since 2011 and I switched over to Gracie Barra in Kirkland. Since this school opened my training and skill level have increased because of Professor Cindy Hales and the team mates that I've gained. Gracie Barra in Kirkland, teaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at its highest level, the Professor Cindy Hales is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Cindy has had a successful MMA career as well. Gracie Barra in Kirkland also has one of the top level kids teams in the state of Washington. If you've never done Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as an adult or you have a child your thinking of putting in this program,

Recommend this gym to anyone.

This is one of the best places to go to study BJJ. Not only are you training under Black Belt Cindy Hales, but you have Coach Dave as well (former Marine and UW graduate). Don't let their experience scare you off, they are both extremely approachable and will help you with anything that contributes to your growth as an athlete as well as an individual. I have learned so much from being a part of this gym and will (and have in the past) recommend this gym to anyone.

GOOOD!!!!

Great place to train. Prof. Cindy and Coach Dave run a well organized and maintained facility. The other professors and coaches whom regularly visit and a students practicing make the dojo a place to continue your BJJ lifestyle if you live in the area and a place to visit if your passing thru. The dojo has locker rooms and restrooms but the most important thing, a shower, for when you need to go somewhere after a good work out. Stop by and get your "roll" on.
