The best tiki bar I have visited in the Greater Seattle area.

The best tiki bar I have visited in the Greater Seattle area. Located in Bothell at the wonderfully themed McMenamin's Anderson School Hotel complex, the North Shore Lagoon is a complete escape from reality. The ambiance is dimly lit and beautifully decorated, with a well curated combination of vintage and modern nautical furnishings. The bar overlooks a tiki themed Olympic sized salt water swimming pool, which is not only a unique view, but free to swim in!

Their menu includes a variety of classic tiki and many other rum-based libations. They also serve a full food menu of pan-Asian meets American pub grub cuisine, which includes plenty of vegan options. I tried the roasted Brussels Sprouts and sweet potato fries, both of which were fantastic and a great compliment to the sweet and strong drinks. The Mai Tai was incredible, crafted with house made Orgeat, fresh lime, and a mix of dark and light rums. I also tried their Zombie, an exact replica of the original 1934 Don the Beachcomber recipe. A tart concoction of 4 different rums, grapefruit, bitters, and cinnamon liquor, this cocktail is as lethal as it is delicious. I highly recommend both of these cocktails, as well as their excellent rendition of the classic Painkiller.

Service was fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly. I will definitely come back to the North Shore Lagoon for dinner and drinks (and possibly swimming too!) the next time I am in Seattle

Great, warm service, good food and tasty beverages. I can't wait to come back!

Oh man! I had the pleasure of staying at The Anderson School overnight and I got to swim in the pool downstairs before eating here. Warning: enter this paradise at your own risk. You may sprout a mermaid tail, have a Gilligan's island flashback, or turn into your own version of Hunter S. Thompson swilling the bar's signature Mai Yais and jamming to "Miserlou".

Great, warm service, good food and tasty beverages. I can't wait to come back!
